Wherever you are, a conveyancing bill is the solicitor's legal fee (plus 20 per cent VAT) plus disbursements such as searches and the Land Registry fee. The legal fee is what varies by location: higher-value property markets carry higher fees. Disbursements are broadly the same countrywide because they are set by councils, HM Land Registry, and search providers rather than the solicitor. Note that a conveyancer does not need to be based in your town, the work is done remotely, so a local firm and a national online conveyancer are both valid choices.
